Even if you don't want to do this swap, you NEED to be on Ravelry!! :)

So, thank you for reading this blog and farewell. :)

I got my bag!

Here are pictures...

This is all the goodies together.
There is enough yarn to make the cute doll. The Stitch markers were hand made and so was the really cute Knitting Fairy.

I love the bag! I have had so many compliments on it already!

Isn't the tin adorable!

I love the fairy and she is sitting on my computer monitor.

I love stitch markers and it can be really hard to find handcrafted ones.

So thank you for spoiling me.

Angel Sign-Ups

I made the mistake, in Round 1, of naively believing that MY swap wasn't going to have any flakers.... Live and learn.

I'm now asking that anyone willing to be a swap angel this time around (should it happen despite my increased "security") please comment on this post. Please keep in mind that Angel packages will be expected to be the same quality & spending limit as regular ones, so keep your budget in mind when offering. Being flaked on is bad enough, but if your "angel" flakes too, that sucks big time!! :)

If you are willing, please state whether you're okay with US/Canadian shipping, too. (Like "I'm willing to angel in Canada only.")

Then "Send By" date of October 15th will be strictly enforced. Unless you let me know AHEAD of time that you will be NO MORE THAN a few days late, you will be considered a flake. Then an Angel will be called upon and you will be reported to Naughty Swapper lists everywhere.

Of course, we all know that won't happen in this swap, right? Because everyone signing up for this round is completely, 100% reliable and wouldn't flake on their dear spoilees. Right? *Smile & nod here*

Round 2 Sign Ups!

To join the KAL/Swap email the following information me. Please make sure you have read, understand and agree to ALL the Rules before signing up, too. I will be checking any known "Naughty Swapper" lists, so don't sign up if you're on one, either. :)

  1. Real Name & Postal Address
  2. Blog address (if you have one)
  3. Ravelry ID (if you have one)
  4. Are you a smoker? Are you allergic to smoke?
  5. Do you have pets? Are you allergic to pets?
  6. Any other allergies? **If allergic to wool, this isn't the swap for you!!**
  7. Anything special I should know pairing you? (Including whether mailing to Canada/US - depending on YOUR location - would be a hardship. Also, I know that you tend to run into the same few die-hard swappers when you have the same interests. You can let me know whom you had in the last round or another recent swap if you want to not get them for the sake of variety)

Once I've approved you and sent you an invitation to this blog, please post an introduction. I will have a questionnaire made up and posted on this blog soon. Make sure you read that post & the instructions for answering it.

Round 2 Rules

Rules for Round 2 have been tightened up a bit. :) I will do my best to lay out the requirements for this swap. If you don't think you can live up to ALL of them, please don't sign up. If you have any questions, please email me before committing to it. I don't like to be "the heavy", but I've seen too many swaps go badly when the hostess tries to be too nice, too.

  • Sorry, this swap is for US/Canada only.
  • This probably goes without saying, but I decided to add it anyway.... You NEED to use 100% wool for this bag. Otherwise, it won't felt properly. Make sure you aren't using superwash wool, too, as that won't felt either. :)
  • Minimum expenditure on this swap will be around $41 (NOT including shipping). I figure this by including the cost of the yarn (800 yards of worsted weight wool, per the pattern. I calculated using Knit Picks Wool of the Andes) at around $16 with an additional $25 for goodies to put in the bag. Now, if you happen to have suitable worsted weight wool in your stash, feel free to use that. The figure to keep in mind is the $25 for goodies. I realize that the cost of the yarn ON TOP of the $25 brings this higher than the “average” swap, so please commit only if you can handle this.
  • Tasty treats, soaps & candles are great inclusions, but please make sure the bulk of your goodie pack is knitting related, such as (quality) yarns, stitch markers, etc.
  • You must have a blog OR be a member of the companion group on Ravelry to participate. One or the other is fine. You will also be invited to post to the KAL/Swap blog, too.
  • You must post weekly to your blog OR the thread I'll set up on Ravelry for weekly check-ins. An easy way to do this is to set aside one day per week as your “mandatory blogging day”. Doesn’t have to be an elaborate, detailed post. Even an update on the weather in your area is better than nothing.
  • This round is NOT a secret swap. I decided that knowing that your partner knows who you are might cut down on flakes.
  • You must contact your spoilee at least once a week thru the swap. If you know you are going away for longer than a week, let me, your spoilee & spoiler know ahead of time so we don't worry that you've ditched! Please let me know privately if your spoiler hasn’t contacted you in over a week.
  • SEND OUT YOUR PACKAGE ON TIME!!! FINAL MAILING DATE IS OCTOBER 15TH. This gives you a month & a half. NO EXCUSES ACCEPTABLE EXCEPT BROKEN HANDS/ARMS (or death, God forbid!), and then only with proof!! You MUST use a tracking number. Email the tracking number to your partner and to me when you send the package out. NO EXCUSES FOR NOT USING TRACKING EITHER. IF YOU FAIL TO USE TRACKING & YOUR PACKAGE IS NEVER RECEIVED, YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED TO HAVE "FLAKED" AND TREATED AS SUCH.
  • You must post your package details and “thank you” on the KAL/Swap blog when you receive it. Feel free to post on your own blog, too, but posting here is required. I really hate to have to tell adults to say "thank you", but its my biggest pet peeve. I've done several swaps where I've barely gotten acknowledgment of receiving (aside from tracking numbers showing delivery), let alone a "thank you". These bags take considerable time to make & shopping for your partners likes does, too. "Got it!" just doesn't cut it for a "thank you". If you are disappointed with your package, at least consider if the effort was there and do what your mother (hopefully) always told you - be gracious anyway. :)
  • If you flake, you WILL be reported to any & all "Naughty Swapper" lists I can find. DO NOT bother signing up if you are on one already. I will be checking.

Round 2 Questionnaire

Okay, I decided that the Questionnaire from Round 1 was still fine. :) This time you will be copying & pasting the questionnaire as a comment on this post. Please, only ONE COMMENT per person to this post. If you have questions or comments about the questionnaire, please email me. Any comments that aren't the questionnaire will be deleted. You are welcome, of course, to post to your blog (if you have one), too. I know I will. You have until August 29th to answer. I'll be checking on Saturday August 30th, before I set up the matches, and anyone without one posted will be removed. But I know you are all going to be the best, most reliable swappers ever and I won't have to be a meanie. :)
